BDA members will have access to a new scheme offering discounts of up to one-fifth off a wide range of key dentistry titles following the launch of BDA Bookclub at Showcase (14 October).
This new benefit arises from an exclusive deal the BDA has negotiated with leading publishers, such as Elsevier, Oxford University Press, Informa and Wiley-Blackwell. A core range of 50 titles is available to BDA members, but the Bookclub also offers a facility for members to buy any other dentistry title from the participating publishers at a discount.
Examples of discounts on books available to members include ??50 off Crispian Scully's definitive resource for the identification, diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial diseases and over ??30 off the bestselling guide to implantology by world-renowned expert, Carl E Misch. Substantial savings can also be made on pocket-book classics, such as the Oxford Handbook on Clinical Dentistry.
Commenting on BDA's Bookclub, Peter Ward, Chief Executive of the BDA, said:
"Whether you are a student, a general practitioner or academic, everyone needs reference books, so why pay more than you have to in these lean times when you can get a substantial discount by simply availing yourself of our new BDA Bookclub service?
"We have an extensive range of titles to choose from, so we're confident that there's something of interest for everybody. These don't just cover topical issues in general dentistry and specialties, but they also include comprehensive guides on practice management.
"And if the book you need is not on our core list, there is every chance that members can buy it at a discounted rate if it published by one of the publishers in our scheme."
